Of all the stages of a human’s life, child development is the most crucial. Every activity affects a child’s development. A study done by researchers from the University of Iowa showed that television playing in the background can negatively affect a child. While children are playing and learning they need to be focused on the activity they are doing, with the television playing in the background it diverts the child’s attention from learning or playing.

What is being shown on the television is another important factor that can affect the future success of a child. Researchers from the study found a relationship between the content shown to a child and the way it affects their development. Television is not the only factor to consider in the development of a child. The study also showed that a child raised in a loving, nurturing home with consistent rules and behaviors can lead a child to do better academically.
